Your stay in the Highlands...
Imagine, waking up to the beautiful Highland country side. The birds are singing and in the distance you hear the river Nairn. Once up, you stretch out and take a stroll through the nature park or along the river just before breakfast. Then, onto cooking your bacon and eggs while you plan your day, or just laze it away in the peace and quiet of the Site as you can always explore more of the Highlands the next day…
Truly away from it all, Barns Highland Campsite just outside the beautiful historic town of Nairn offers something for everyone: romantic breaks for couples or families on summer holiday, campers not bothered by school terms, walkers, keen fishers, bird spotters and of course those celebrating something special.
No matter why you are staying, all we want to do is to “Contribute to making happy memories every day”.

Meet Dave, a happy guest currently staying at Barns Campsite :-)
Please welcome Barns Campsite as our Member of the Week. An independent and family-run business, Ewan and Truus are keen to share their love of travel, nature and Scotland with all who visit their campsite.
Barns Campsite is a peaceful campsite located on an arable farm just outside of Nairn, where they invite you to stay and enjoy life in the beautiful countryside with long walks by the river and nature at its best. Ewan and Truus share a passion for travel and they’ve travelled extensively in their own campervan over the years, which has led them to where they are now. They returned home to Ewan’s family farm in the Highlands just a couple of years ago, to give back and share their love of camping and the natural beauty of Scotland. Ewan is originally from the area, having been brought up in Elgin whilst Truus is from the Netherlands.
Had a lovely time at your park in May we were on our own for most of the time which was great for us and our dogs who we allowed off lead in the brilliant enclosed area. They have not had the opportunity to be off lead in a large area before and loved it. You have a beautiful site and we plan to come back as soon as we can. Next time we will know you sell fresh eggs too lovely! (Ms Hudson)
The sun is shining, the office doors are open. I am working while I hear the birds singing and the odd plane taking off from the airport. But above all, I look around seeing our stunning country side views and the Black Isle hills. Yes, we have some productive hens, so don’t forget to get your eggs site visitors :-)
We are so happy to inform you that Barns Campsite has it’s own Highland cows. These cows are real models and will strike their best pose for all photo’s you take. Our four cows are walking in a large area where they can be viewed directly from the site and from the entrance to the site. It depends where they choose to be for the day :-)
